Program Description

Regional Office of Education #3 receives funding from the McKinney-Vento Homeless Act through the Illinois State Board of Education.  Our goal is to make every school administrator and local liaison in Area V aware of the responsibilities they possess for the provision of education to homeless children and youth through the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act of 2001.  We offer training and technical assistance to achieve this goal.  Training will be offered in different locations throughout Area V.  We will, through training, attempt to eliminate barriers to homeless students enrolling in and attending school.  New information will be disseminated through a listserv which will include all local liaisons in Area V.
